本週片語[taper off]: gradually to become smaller in size, amount or quantity.

Ex.

  1. The number of tourists begins to taper off in late autumn.
  2. The side effects of the drug will start to taper off after a few days.

慢慢消退，慢慢減少，漸漸停止，漸漸變小
